This is my last week of school before the gates of hell finally open, and me and my fellow peers can finally escape the (somewhat) eternal damnation that is public schooling.

Seriously though, I’m fucking pumped for winter break (as any kid should be). 2 weeks of doing whatever I want! Even though it’ll probably be mainly gaming… which now that I think about it will probably mean inevitable boredom, but still! Two freaking weeks! I wanna get some sledding in for sure as well, provided we get an adequate amount of snow.

Christmas/the holidays are definitely the main attraction here though. I’ll definitely keep you posted on mine and I’ll be reading about yours.

Apparently, this is soon to be the case with Team Fortress 2. Check it.

I’m guessing this will have something to do with item stats? Like you will be able to create weapons that would be otherwise unlockable with higher or lower stats. Kinda like Borderlands I guess. From the website it looks like you will be able to collect metal and other resources from destroying weapons, and you will be able to experiment or use recipes to create them.

Anyway, this looks pretty cool. I love Valve so much for everything they’ve done for this game. Other developers need to learn a thing or two from them. This my friends, is how PC FPS games should be.

To make a long story short, I decided to give WAR another go. I canceled my WoW subscription today, the game is just gotten dull and I no longer feel like playing or even logging in. DAOC is great, and most likely I will continue to play it for the remainder of my free month.

Anyway, I logged in on my lowbie squig herder and was given a “welcome back” sort of quest in which I was given some silver, an XP/Renown bonus and a scroll that teleports me to The Inevitable City whenever. Good stuff. I also got a quest to participate in some open RvR in Nordland, which was awesome because it basically led me to play for 3 hours. Both Order and Destruction assembled on either side of the beach and the battle was on!

I regret I didn't get a better screenshot. Both sides had about ~20 or so players.

Wish I got a better screenshot, this was fairly early on in the battle. Both sides had about ~20 or so players soon after.

I spent a good 3 hours just killing Order with fellow Destruction players. It was a lot of fun. See WoW? This is what true PvP looks like.

mount Got my mount in Dark Age of Camelot today! Woohoo! Always a major achievement in MMOs for me. It’s like getting a car in RL, except it only takes a couple of hours and not 18-20 years! Well, actually that was kind of a bad example. Nevermind.

DAOC is still providing me with fun. I’m still not quite done the tutorial, I think I have about one more level to go and then I’m done for life. From there, it’s off to Midgard and the actual game. Some PvP action would be nice too.

I love how awesome the community for this game is. Everyone is really helpful, and the game automatically puts you in a guild when you first create a character. The guild has been helping me out with everything, since I am a total noob to DAOC and although I have pretty much learned the fundamentals, there is still a lot of questions to ask. Like, I was wondering how I could put up my hood in-game. I had seen other people doing it and could never figure out how to do it myself. The answer? /hood. How freaking cool is that? (pictured above).
